Troubleshooting
Common problems and what they mean.
"Video not found" or extraction failed
Why: X changed its page structure, or the tweet's video was removed. Usually temporary.
Fix: Try again in a few minutes, or try the Chrome extension — it uses your own logged-in session and can sometimes succeed where a server-side fetch fails.
Private or protected content
Why: The account is locked/protected, or the post requires being logged in to view.
Fix: We only fetch publicly accessible content — there's no workaround for private posts you don't have access to.
"Not supported" for a profile or list link
Why: Only a direct link to a single tweet is accepted, not a profile, media tab, likes, or list page.
Fix: Copy the link to the specific tweet with the video, not the profile page.
Broadcast still live
Why: You submitted an X Broadcast link while it's still streaming.
Fix: Logged-in paid users can queue it — we wait for the stream to end and email you the replay link automatically.
File size or daily limit reached
Why: Free plan: 25MB per file, 2 downloads/day.
Fix: Buy a credit pack (one-time) to lift the daily limit for good, or get lifetime SVIP to remove size and quality caps entirely.
Rate limited
Why: Too many requests in a short window, or the daily download limit was reached.
Fix: Wait for the daily reset, or upgrade on the pricing page.
Login or payment errors
Why: Your session expired, or a Stripe checkout didn't complete.
Fix: Sign in again from the navbar. If a payment didn't go through, no charge was made — try again or contact support@xvideodownloader.org.
